Bath Water celebrates a year working with local businesses

Bath Water is delighted to announce it is celebrating its first year in business.

The Bath-based business, which launched its still and sparkling spring water to an audience of hotels, bars, restaurants and business customers last May to satisfy the ever-increasing demand for healthy, local, natural products, is today celebrating its first year of trading.

A year ago, Bathonians, Mark and Rachel Allen, teamed up with Bath-based film producer, Jonathan Willis, to launch ‘Bath Water’, a pure, natural spring water drawn from organic land, to a regional, national and international audience of hoteliers, bar and restaurant owners.

Drawn from organic land on the nearby Mendip Hills, from the source of where the water that flows into Bath originates, ‘Bath Water’ has been filtered through ancient limestone vales and bottled at source to refresh locals and people from further afield alike.

Rachel Allen comments: “Local businesses have been fantastic in their support of Bath Water over the last year, and we have built up a good solid customer base locally, working with The Royal Crescent Hotel, the Apex Hotel, No. 15 Great Pulteney and Searcy’s to supply the Pump Rooms, Assembly Rooms and Roman Baths Kitchen, for example, as well as Bath Rugby and numerous other Bath-based businesses which are eager to support local producers.”

The couple were keen to set up a Bath-based business in the food and drink sector, so in a ‘light bulb moment’ in October 2016, while at lunch with their respective families, the trio ordered a bottle of water – and a bottle of water from Scotland appeared! – and they asked themselves ‘why Bath, a city synonymous with water, did not have its very own brand of water?’ This was an opportunity and Bath Water was born!

Mark Allen says: “I am a very keen Bath Rugby supporter and am delighted to have negotiated the Contract of official ‘Hydration Partner of Bath Rugby’ to supply all Bath Rugby’s hydration requirements since the beginning of the 2017-18 Season. This includes stocking the playing squad (who love it!) with bottled water, as well as guests who attend events at Farleigh House and Bath Water is exclusively sold at the Recreation Ground on matchdays. The partnership with Bath Rugby is a natural fit and we are thrilled to support the rugby team both on and off the field. Bath Water captures our passion for our city as ‘Bath in a Bottle’ and we are extremely proud to have our spring water endorsed by the Club’s professional athletes for healthy hydration.”

Mark ends with: “We are very pleased to be celebrating our Year Anniversary and we’ll will be having a few (alcoholic) drinks to celebrate, and will of course be sobering up with Bath Water!”
